We were very lucky with the weather on Sunday when we paraded our 2016 South Island Sale Yearling Draft for a good crowd of prospective buyers organised by the Central South Island Owners’ and Trainers’ Assn. All our our draft behaved impeccably and were very well received by the visitors. We have a draft of quality horses this year. We have fabulous fillies by Reliable Man, Super Easy, Foxwedge, Mastercraftsman and the evergreen Pins. The colts that we will present are by the following sires, Super Easy, Wanted, Cape Blanco, Jimmy Choux and O’Reilly. We will be parading these horses in Christchurch from 9am on Wednesday 13th April.
Our lovely racehorse ‘Knowing’ who has won 2 races for us, has unfortunately been retired following an injury to his leg. We are devastated that this beautiful horse will not get the chance to show his full potential but we are relieved to still have him around and he will live out his days with trainer, Rosie Gibbs as her riding horse.
We will be having a nice quiet time after the sales as we have no foals to wean this year at all. This will let us concentrate on working the young horses that we have at various stages – a couple to break in, a couple to bring back in, a racehorse to retrain and our hunters to hopefully get out in the hunt field towards the end of the season.
