Welcome rain and new grass

Welcome rain & new grassSpring has brought with it some welcome rain and new grass growth. All the horses have now lost their winter coats and are all looking fabulous. We have been treated so some fun days at the races with our syndicate horses, Hot Pants who ran a very close second at Wingatui on Melbourne Cup day and our new horse Justabout Ready winning his trial at Banks Peninsula. Our own Captain Rio gelding Rionius placed 2nd in his trial at Ashburton and we are looking forward to his first start. We are also very excited with the prospect of Knowing returning to the races following a lengthy spell after sustaining a tendon injury.

It was particularly pleasing to watch Gorgeous Ryder (Chinese DragonTwizzle) win at Te Awamutu at only his 2nd start back in NZ after returning from Hong Kong. Congratulations to trainer John Bell for his patience with this very promising looking stayer. We sold him as a 2yo at the South Island Sale a couple of years ago.

We are really looking forward to the 2016 South Island Yearling Sale in April. The sale is going to be run from the Chch RDA Building at the Showgrounds following an initiative from NZB and the CMWO TB Breeders’ Assn. We are shaping up to present our best lineup yet with yearlings by Jimmy Choux, Pins, Mastercraftsman, Reliable Man, Super Easy etc…

We are always open for inspection, please feel free to give us a call and come for a visit.
