Weanling Sale Success

Proisir weanling

We decided to take our lovely homebred colt by Proisir out of Darci Brahma mare, Works Wonders to the NZB May Sale. We rated the colt highly and wanted to give ourselves plenty of options with him.

He travelled to Auckland incredibly well and never missed an oat the whole trip. Being a correct colt with a very athletic walk, he was very well received and was knocked down to David Goldsbury for $40,000. It was lovely to get an email from the Goldsbury's to say that the colt had arrived safely and was happily rugged up and eating like a star.

We have so many people to thank for helping us with the trip from Waimate to Auckland - Cam Cooper (farrier), Alisa Corser (vet), Kerrin Beatson (IHAP), The Cover Queen, Wallfield Farm Haylege, Couplands Stockfeeds, Cambria Park at Pukekohe, Majestic Horse Transport, Jamie Campbell (house sitting professional) and Michael Martin and Susan Archer (owners of Works Wonders).

At the NZB South Island Sale, we sold all five horses that were presented under the Pear Tree Farm banner and we wish the buyers of the yearlings the best of luck with them.

We are now into weaning which we both really enjoy as we watch the babies learn to lead and tie up and how to wear a rug. It is so satisfying to see them learning the skills that they will need as they head into their lives as future racehorses.
